摘　　要： 由于传统文化和养老模式的差异,英汉民族对孝道重要性及其内容的认知存在着明显差异。美国汉学家Jean M.Mulligan在其《琵琶记》(The Lute)英译本的长篇导言中对该剧孝道伦理进行了探讨。Mulligan之文化误读,是由中西孝文化语境认知的互为观照所致。 The notion and tradition of filial piety are sharply different for Chinese and Western people. American Sinologist Jean M. Mulligan＇s discussed filial piety in the introductory remark to the English Version of The Lute, but he misinterpreted it due to his neglect of the different cultural contexts of Chinese and western filial piety. This paper is a study on his misreading and the reasons for it.
