摘　　要： 重男轻女的社会历史现象在潮汕地区相当严重,主要表现在生育观以及教育、社会与家庭地位、婚姻等方面对妇女的歧视和不公平待遇。造成潮汕地区严重的重男轻女社会现象的原因,主要是潮汕传统社会生产、历史文化传统以及家族、人口等社会客观条件的影响。严重的重男轻女社会现象对潮汕经济社会发展产生了极其不良的影响。必须采取积极有效的措施,彻底铲除重男轻女这一现象,使广大女性自尊、自信、自立,真正实现男女平等。 The historical and social phenomena of male-preference in the area of Chaozhou-Shantou is very common, which mainly involves in such discriminations and unfair treatment against women as demonstrated in the wrong concept of fertility, education, social and family status and marriage. The causes of male-preference are mainly as follows： the production of Chaoshan society, the historical and cultural traditions, clans and population, which has seriously affected the economic and social development of Chaoshan area. Effective measures must be taken in order to eradicate the phenomena, so that women can have female self-esteem, confidence and self-reliance to really achieve equality between men and women.
