摘　　要： 反义词是指意义相反或相对以及意义本不相反,而被人拿来对用的词。反义词是各种语言中普遍存在的一种相当重要的语言现象。但是人们对反义词的认识有所不同,对反义词的修辞功能也不甚了解。基于这种现象,侧重分析了英语反义词的特点及其功能,旨在帮助读者更好地认识、正确地界定和有效地使用反义词。 Antonyms refer to the words which are opposite in meaning and the words which are originally not opposite in meaning but which are used to contrast other words. The antonym is a very important lan- guage phenomenon which exists in all languages, but different people have different ideas about it. They don＇ t know the functions of antonyms. Because of this, this paper analyzes the features and functions of English antonyms so that the people can better understand, correctly judge and effectively use the antonyms.
