摘　　要： 水客是客家侨乡社会的一个独特现象,是非现代化时代背景下的产物。水客通过携带钱款、物品、人及书信,起到沟通南洋与家乡的桥梁、纽带作用,而经水客引进的海外思想与物质实物导致了当地社会生活方式与社会风气发生了某种程度的变迁。 Shuike is a particular phenomena and the product of non-modernization. By surveying and analyzing Shuike, we can not only create Shuike＇ image and reveal the relation of Hakka rural society and overseas Chinese society, but also understand the history of overseas Chinese so as to enrich the research from new angles. Moreover, Shuike is also an important segment to comprehend the Hakka society from Ming and Qing Dynasty and understand the process and modernization of Hakka countryside, especially home town of overseas Chinese.
