摘 要: 大学英语教学法大致经历两次较大变迁:80年代,受国际影响,由传统翻译教学法转向交际教学法;近年来,由于学生英语水平参差不齐,交际教学法收效甚微,有回归翻译教学法的趋势。与传统翻译教学法不同,回归后的翻译教学法有机融合了交际教学法中的合理成分,既有利于打好语言基础,又有助于培养语言应用能力。 College English teaching methods have roughly gone through two major changes in China. In 1990s, the first change occurred from traditional grammar-translation method to communicative approach under the influence of international community. In recent years, the second change took place from communicative approach back to grammar-translation method in view of the fact that communicative approach bore few fruits as a result of students' uneven English competence. It should be noted, however, that the grammar-translation method, re-employed in college English teaching at present, is different from what it used to be because it has integrated the positive elements of communicative approach, contributing much to the development of students' communicative competence as well as benefiting the development of their basic language skills.
