摘　　要： 乡村旅游作为一种极具发展潜力的新型旅游活动方式,以其特有的功能和活动内容,而显示出蓬勃生机和良好的市场前景。社会主义新农村建设是当前及今后一段时期中国经济社会发展中的一个重大历史任务。新农村建设是乡村旅游发展的重要依托,而乡村旅游发展又对新农村建设具有促进作用。"世界客都"梅州的客家文化是一种良好的乡村旅游资源,在梅州开展乡村旅游是促进梅州新农村建设的有效途径之一。 As a potential and new tourism activity, unique function and activity content of rural tourism shows vigorous vital force and good market prospects. New rural construction of socialism is an important historical task in the process of Chinese economic development at present and future period. The new rural construction is an important basis of rural tourism development, and rural tourism development can promote new rural construction. The Hakka culture of ＂World Hakka City＂ is a good kind of rural tourism resource. Developing rural tourism is an effective way to accelerate the new rural construction of socialism in Meizhou.
