摘　　要： 从译者主体性角度出发,通过《红楼梦》死亡委婉语翻译实例的对比分析,探讨制约译者主体性的因素——文化取向及翻译目的对译者翻译策略选择的影响。 Euphemism is a cultural phenomena as well as rhetoric. From the perspective of translator＇s subjectivity,based on contrast studies of translation in death euphemisms in ＂Hong Lou Meng＂ （ Dream of the Red Chamber）, this paper has discussed the factors in the process of translation, such as cultural orientation and translation purpose that restrain the translator＇ s subjectivity and effect the decision - making of the translator in translating strategies.
