Gary Snyder's poetry exhibits a confluence of ecology and literature, thereby becoming an eco-poetics distinguished by a sense of unity. Throughout this paper his eco-poetics is examined from three aspects: language, grammar and form. In Snyder's opinion, language is biological in nature, grammar is earth-bound, and form is akin to an empty vessel. Different from traditional poetics, Snyder's eco-poetics constitutes a unique and brilliant scene in eco-criticism.
