This paper examines Carter's The Sdeian Women and traces the background within which she developed the notion of 'sex and morals' for the purpose of promoting sexual productions for women's consumption. She argues against those who want to restrict women's sexuality. This paper discusses Carter's work in relation to Saddie's both which expand on the notion of sex and morals and concludes that Carter was not trying something impossible and in fact her project of reconstructing culture is largely feasible.
