摘　　要： 本研究根据珠江三角洲土地利用的实际情况,在借鉴了国内外较为成熟的技术方法的基础上,在地理信息系统工具的支持下,基于Landsat卫星的TM和ETM+数据对珠江三角洲核心区域的土地利用进行了监测,探讨了该区域1998-2003年间的土地利用变化状况。本研究以1998-2003年的土地利用变化为基础数据与前人在该地区的相关研究(1978-1997)进行了时间序列的对比,分析了研究区域的土地利用变化机理。 According to the actual environments and status of land use of Pearl River Delta, and using prevalent and maturc technologies and methods, this research analysis the change （1998-2003） of land use of core corridor of PRD based on TM and ETM＋ data of Landsat satellite under the support of GIS tools. On the other side, this paper discussed the temporal change （1978-1997） of land use in this delta and contrasted these changes with prevenient researches. At the same time, this paper analysis the mechanism of land use change based on the data of 1998-2003.
