摘 要: 母语运用在英语教学中是个颇具争议的问题。本文分析了母语对第二语言习得的影响,以及母语运用对专业英语教学的必要性,指出我们在教学中应趋利避害,因势利导,尽可能发挥母语知识对外语学习的积极作用。 Second language acquisition (SLA) research shows that first language (L1) transfer is one of the important factors. The emphasis of most of those studies has been placed on the negative transfer, and no much attention given to the positive effects of mother tongue. This article discusses the necessity of making good use of learners' knowledge of mother tongue and explores the positive contribution of mother tongue in the teaching of English as majors.
