摘　　要： 城市具有推进文化发展的巨大能力。北宋东京汴梁的街市是中国古代城市发展的一项革命性产物,它的意义之一是把城市改造为更为健全的世俗生活场所,从而培育了文化发展的肥沃土壤,增强了城市的文化发展功能,对中国文化的发展做出了杰出的贡献。中国文学、戏曲、绘画在北宋的发展是很好的例证。 The city has a huge power in driving the cultural development. The market of Bianliang, the capital city of North Song Dynasty, is a revolutionary creation in the development of ancient cities. The meaning of it is transforming the city into a better living space for ordinary people. It develops the fertile soil for cultural development and therefore makes great contribution to the development of China＇s culture. The prosperity of traditional Chinese literature, drama, painting in North Song Dynasty is a good demonstration.
