摘 要: 阿尔提艾瑞为加州大学伯克利分校英文系教授,是现代诗歌和文学理论领域的著名学者他著述甚丰,并长期担任一些重要学术杂志的编委和顾问该访谈涉及关于现代英美诗歌以及文学理论与批评方面的诸多议题,如所谓"流亡的"和"爱国的"美国现代主义,美国诗歌的确定性和不确定性模式,以及解构主义、现象学、文学研究。 Charles Altieri is at present Professor of English and Rachel Stageberg Anderson Chair at the University of California, Berkeley, and member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is on the Editorial Board of MLQ and Contemporary Literature, and the Advisory Board of Epoche and Comparative Literature Studies. His articles could be found in various journals and collections. Among his books are Enlarging the Temple: New Directions in American Poetry of the 1960's, Act and Quality: A Theory of Literary Meaning, Self and Sensibility in Contemporary American Poetry, Painterly Abstraction in Modernist American Poetry: The Contemporaneity of Modernism, Canons and Consequences, Subjective Agency: A Theory of First-Person Expressivity and Its Social Implications, Postmodernism Now: Essays on Contemporaneity in the Arts, The Particulars of Rapture: An Aesthetics of the Affects and The Art of Modern American Poetry. This interview cov- ers a wide range of topics concerning modem Anglo-American poetry, as well as literary and critical theories. Different issues in American poetry are discussed, such as the so-called " exile modernism" and "patriot modernism," its determinacy and indeterminacy modes, etc. A variety of topics including deconstruction, phenomenology, cultural studies and postmodemism are involved in the talk which also touches on the style of Prof. Altieri as an influential scholar and critic.
