摘　　要： 新西兰是位于南太平洋的一个岛国。与其邻国澳大利亚相比,世人对它的关注甚少,但新西兰在国际舞台上非常活跃,常常在国际事务中发挥着超出一般小国的作用①。从英国统治的殖民地到独立国家,进而成为活跃在国际舞台上具有洞察力的国家,在这样一个变化过程中, New Zealand is a small country in South Pacific region, NZ is playing a special role in regional affairs. New Zealand is keeping external relations and the development of traditional relations with Europe and the United States, and maintaining special relations with Australia.In addition to that, NZ vigorously develops the friendly relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region. ASEAN is an important country organization in the Asia- Pacific region, occupies an increasingly important position in New Zealand＇s diplomatic strategy blueprint in the Asia-Pacific region. ASEAN policy constitutes an important part of New Zealand＇s Asia-Pacific policy and guidance for the development of relations between New Zealand and ASEAN.
