摘　　要： 一、引言 在国际文化交流中，历来有弱势文化与强势文化之分。例如，在当今中西文化交流中，中国是被看作弱势文化国家的，而西方则是强势文化的代表。尽管我们希望一种平等、互相尊重的交流方式，但交流中的文化霸权主义、民族中心主义却总是客观存在的。 Translation is an important means of intercultural communication, during which process cultural hegemonism and ethnocentrism in intercultural communication are represented through various forms. One of the most obvious representations is seen in the debate on the translation strategies of ＂forcignization＂ and ＂domestication＂. In line with Venuti, domesticating translation is regarded as a kind of ethnocentric translation, forcignization non-ethnocentric. However, Venuti＇s argument is actually only based on translations of the inferior culture made by English translators. As a means of intercultural communication, translation is by no means a one-way activity. When seeing from the perspective of translational direction, ethnocentrism will take various forms of representation.
