摘　　要： 在对广州大学、广东工业大学的通识教育课程实施情况进行调查和分析的基础上,对地方本科院校如何开展和实施通识教育进行探讨,提出地方本科院校要明确通识教育目标,加强通识教育宣传,优化通识教育课程设置并加强教学质量监控,在开展通识教育过程中要充分利用学校自身的资源和优势,并处理好促进学生全面发展与提高学生就业竞争力的关系等建议。 On the basis of investigation and analysis of implementation of general education courses in Guangzhou University and Guangdong University of Technology, the authors suggest that the following measures be taken to strengthen general education in local universities ： 1. to make clear objectives of general education ; 2. to strengthen general education publicity;3, to optimize the general education courses and strengthen the teaching quality control ;4. to make full use of their own resources and advantages ;5. to enhance the relationship between promoting the comprehensive development of students and improving their competitive power in employment.
