摘　　要： 近年来,西欧、北美和澳洲兴起一场深刻的城市革命,即城市复兴运动。英国一些著名学者针对西欧及北美各国文化活动与城市复兴政策的相互关系,提出其研究报告The Art of Regeneration,在城市问题与文化的回应、原有操作方式的局限性、文化活动对城市公众的影响等方面,作出详细的论述。文章通过对该报告主要观点的简介和述评,介绍了城市复兴运动产生的背景、目的和特点,以求为我国的城市复兴与建设提供参考。 In the past years, a profound urban revolution, i.e. Urban Regeneration, springs up in Western Europe, North American and Australia. Some British noted scholars focused on interaction between cultural activities and policies of urban regeneration in Western Europe and North America and then brought forward the research report of The Art of Regeneration. It works out detailed dissertation on the city problems and cultural responses, limitations of existing approach, cultural activities influencing on urban regeneration and etc. The paper introduces the background, purpose and characteristic of urban regeneration by means of brief introduction to and commentary on the main viewpoint of the said report, which intends to provide the reference for the urban regeneration and construction.
