摘　　要： 首先介绍国外对大都市区的界定,回顾国外大都市区研究的三个阶段:萌芽发展阶段、兴起发展阶段、丰富深化阶段,以及从其主要成果与观点中得到的总结与启示,结合我国城市发展的实际,提出相关新命题,以利研究的深入开展。 The paper reviews overseas research of metropolitan area of three stages： the beginning, the developing and the maturing stages and the summarizations and inspirations fi＇om the overseas research findings and deficiencies. Based on the development of China＇s metropolitan areas, the paper proposes new research topics and research tendency of China＇s metropolitan area.
