Due to differences in traditional cultures, the view of life and death between Chinese and Westerners takes on distinctive connotations. The Chinese traditional culture is manifested by Confucianism and Taoism; the former treats life mainly from the perspective of "birth", focusing on existence; and the latter considers life as a natural process, emphasizing life' s own course. As a contrast, Westerners view life chiefly from the perspective of "termination" (i. e. death). Consequently, these differences in perspectives will result in disagreements on their view of life and death.
