摘　　要： 清华大学筹划设立艺术系始于1947年,以应对欧美博物馆和大学收藏研究中国艺术品的劲势,开创中国大学艺术史研究的风气。由于与国民政府“发展理工,抑制文法”的教育方针相左,增设艺术系的构想未能实现。新中国成立即组建清华大学文物馆,作为全校文物收藏、整理、研究与形象教学的统一领导机构,在继续艺术史研究的同时,配合社会需要举办具有现实意义的专题展览。筹设艺术系与组建文物馆既是清华大学从学科建设方面沟通人文、艺术与科学的实践,同时对于开创中国大学的艺术史研究、唤起全社会爱护本国文化的自觉、进而确立中国文化的世界地位具有发轫的意义。 When Chinese antique became the focus of attention in the Westerns, Tsinghua University began to set up Art Department in 1947 so as to enlighten Chinese art research in China. However, since the Ouomindang government＇s educational strategy was to develop science and engineering disciplines, the dream of setting up the Art Department plan did not come true. Tsinghua Museum was founded in 1950 and played an important role in antique assistant teaching as a leading organization in major of Chinese art research. Both the plan of Art Department and the foundation of Tsinghua Museum are valuable practice of connecting humanity, art and science in the development of disciplines of Tsinghua University, enlightening Chinese traditional art research in Chinese universities and arousing cultural consciousness of Chinese people in difficult times.
