摘　　要： 1903年,日本学者冈仓天心出版了《东方的理想》,首次英译“六法”的前二法。1905年,英国学者翟理斯不仅修订了冈仓英译的前“二法”,而且第一次完整译出“六法”。之后,索珀和阿克针对“六法”断句和“气韵”概念分别提出新译。20世纪最后十年里,“气”基本以汉语拼音形式出现在文论英译中。画论之“韵”也极难在西语中找到确切的对应词,亦可以汉语拼音译之,据上下文辅以英文解释。 In 1903, the Japanese scholar Okakula Tensin published his The Ideal of the East and for the first time translated the first two methods of the Six Methods. In 1905, the British scholar Herbert A. Giles not only revised the two methods translated by Okakula Tensin but also completed the translation of the six methods altogether. Later, new translations appeared concerning the punctuations and the concept of “qi yun”. In the last decade of 20~ th century, the Chinese spelling of “qi” appeared in the English version, and, because it is difficult to find an equivalent in western languages, “yun” also takes its Chinese spelling with English notes according to special contexts.
