The oriental fruit fly, Baetrocera (Bactrocera) dorsalis (Hendel), is the important quarantine pest in China, creating problems not only for the production of fruits and vegetables but also the relative international trade. Six microsateUite markers were utilized in this study to assess the genetic polymorphism of oriental fruit fly primarily. Sampled populations come from Fujian, Guangdong, Yunnan and Vietnam. The results indicated that genetic differentiation exists among the four populations. The main reason of the genetic differentiation should be related to geographic isolation.
