摘　　要： 中国社会主义现代化事业的凯歌行进和辉煌成就,为城市化高潮的到来与可持续城市化的进程提供了良好的社会经济环境。大连在这一进程中捷足先登,应当着眼于正在信息化的世界经济新潮流,依据邓小平、江泽民、朱基等中央领导人先后对城市发展目标的题词和指示精神,从自身的实际情况出发面向21世纪中期定位于创建“现代化国际名城”。其价值取向是努力提高城市的知名度,增强城市的国际性,加快城市的现代化,打造城市的文化品牌,造就城市的区域引擎和国际航运中心地位,从而拉动中国可持续城市化这一世界经济中的主导性潮流向着更高的层次和理想的境界推进。 The progress and great achievements of the socialist modernizations in China provide a good economic environment for the coming of climax of urbanization and the process of sustainable urbanization. In this process, Dalian should be positioned to be built into a modern international city according to its own conditions as a response to the inscriptions and instructions on the development objective of the city by Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Zhu Rongji, and the trend of world＇s information economy, Its value orientation should be focused on improving its publicity, enhancing its internationalization, speeding the space of modernization, building up its own cultural brand, , setting up its standing as the regional economic engine and international shipping center so as to make the urbanization in China, the leading trend in world＇s economy, develop at a higher level.
