摘　　要： 异体字造成使用与传播上的讹误和混乱以及识认上的困难,但也为我们考音考义提供了更多的形体,因而在训诂方面却有着不可忽视的作用。其作用主要有:明本义、考文字、破通假、求词源。 Variant forms of a Chinese character cause error and confusion in usage and propagation, as well as difficulty in literacy, but they offer us more forms of the character in textual criticism of the pronounciation and meaning of the word, too. For this reason, their function can not be ignored in making explanatory notes on ancient Chinese. They are mainly used to： discriminate original meaning, explain the abnormal way of using words, identify Tongjia （通假） and search for the origin of a word.
