摘　　要： 论述了城市经济可持续发展的内涵与特点,讨论了广州市经济增长与环境发展、经济增长与社会发展的不协调性,并从大力发展循环经济、发展科技、加强基础设施建设和加大教育投资等方面提出了实现广州市经济可持续发展的有效途径。 More attention has been paid to the research of urban economic sustainable development. In this paper the characteristics of the sustainable development of urban economy are explained, which include reducing consumption of resources, promoting the economy of information and technology, keeping up with time, enlarging the opening to the outside world, etc. The relationship between fast urban economic growth and sustainable development is discussed. In Guangzhou, fast economic growth has laid great stress on environment, and the social development has lagged behind. Some in harmony has occurred in the system of economy, society and environment. It is suggested that for realizing sustainable be energetically development of urban economy, circle economy should be promoted, science and technology developed, and investment in infrastructure and education be increased.
