摘　　要： 叶之膏在《语言符号是约定俗成的吗》一文中极力推崇赫尔德关于语言起源的思想，而简单地否定了其他假说。同时对语言符号的约定性置若罔闻，甚至对索绪尔的语言符号任意性原则大加诋毁。本文从语言学基本原理出发，指出了叶文所犯的几个错误，对涉及到的语言学重要命题和概念作了梳理。 In the article Are Language Signs Established by Usage,Ye Zhiqing canonizes greatly Herder＇s idea about the origin of language, negates other hypothesisses, denies that language signs are established by usage, and tears down Saussure＇s arbitrariness principle of language. According to the linguistic principles, this paper shows where Ye Zhiqing makes mistakes, and analyses involved propositions and concepts of linguistics.
