摘 要: Jean-Paul Sartre puts forward the notion of “bad imagination” in terms of Husserl’s phenomenology. Sartre considers that “human reality is what it is not and is not what it is ” as a grand philosophical truth claim of human ontology. The ordered and determined universe is shocked by Sartre’s bad Imagination. The awareness of the experience of negation has been existed within the consciousness of every man after birth. This consciousness of absence comes from “Bad Imagination”, when Sartre analyses Saint Genet’s imagination as a thievish writer. Bad Imagination or self-deception is subsumed under the same phenomenological consciousness. It can be seen that the notion of “bad imagination“ possesses philosophical interest by the examination of human consciousness and by illuminating Sartre’s attitudes towards the constituents of human action forming human being.
