摘　　要： 词汇是英语学习的重要组成部分,近几年的大学英语四级考试取消了对英语语法的直接考察,词汇结构和完形填空两道大题全是词汇题。这些题更多地依赖于语境语义方面的要求,而不再是过去的语法结构上的要求,显示出出题者对词汇学习的日益重视。本文主要概述英语词汇的基本特点和构词规律,例证丰富,同时推荐了一些记忆方法,包含不少个人体会,尤其强调了词汇掌握的质量方面。 More emphasis has been placed on the test of students' vocabulary rather than of their grammatical knowledge in the recent College English Tests(Band Four).Consequently, students and teachers are racking their brains to seek more effective approaches to acquire a sound knowledge of the required or necessary vocabulary. Here is to analyze the important aspects of English vocabulary, presenting useful means with plenty of examples collected and developed during the author's teaching.
