摘　　要： 通过对城市设计定义、方法的论述,指出在许多城市中出现的所谓城市设计活动其实是对城市设计工作的误解,不能将城市设计简单化,不能将城市设计这一科学性的工作变成搞形象工程、政绩工程的借口。应使城市设计真正地起到改善城市空间质量,为人们创造有意义的人工环境和自然环境的作用。 By analyzing the definition and methods of urban design, this paper points out that many ur- ban design activities in cities are actually misunderstood. It presents that urban design, as a scientific work, should not be regarded as excuse of vanity projects. And urban design should improve the quality of city space and to create an enjoyable natural and built environment for people living in it.
