With the urbanization in the Pearl River Delta as a case, this paper analyzes the mechanism how rural collective ownership units help the forma- tion of dispersed urbanized space. It brings forward that the Pearl River Delta has homogeneous labor cost, transportation cost, tax cost and land cost, which causes that foreign invested enterprises spread widely among rural collective ownership units, therefore leads to the dispersed urbanization.
