摘　　要： 兼职教师在美国高校里已经是一个具有相当规模的群体。财政危机是美国高校大量使用兼职教师的首要原因,管理灵活性的需要以及一些课程实践经验的需要是使用兼职教师的另外两个原因。随着兼职教师的大量使用,一些问题也浮出水面:兼职教师待遇的公平性、兼职教师的教学质量以及兼职教师的大量使用对高校教师职业的影响。 Part-time faculty has formed a considerably scaled group. American universities and colleges are heavily relying on part-time faculty because of financial shortage, management flexibility and demanding experiences. But some issues, such as part-time faculty's treatment, their teaching effectiveness and affection of popular use of part-time faculty to academic profession should be given more consideration.
