摘　　要： 分行是英诗区别于其他文学作品的鲜明的外部特征。英诗的分行并不是随意的,而是颇富理据性的。通过若干诗例探讨了英诗分行的七种主要功能和其美学效果及其在诗歌鉴赏与翻译研究中的功用。 Line-division is a most distinctive feature of English poetry, which sets English poetry apart from other works of literature. It is not arbitrary, but motivated. Based on the detailed analyses of English poems, this paper illustrates seven major functions of line-division in the English poetry, its aesthetic effects as well as its usefulness to English poetry appreciation and poetic translation studies.
