摘　　要： 随着改革开放的深入和中国经济的不断发展,中国高校跟外界交流的机会越来越多。因此,很多高校就在其中文校名的基础上,增加了英文校名,以便于对外交流。但是,由于没有相应法律规章的指引,所以高校英文校名的命名就由高校自行决定;由于没有相应的命名标准,我国高校的英文校名也就五花八门,很容易产生歧义,引起误解和产生不必要的尴尬。本文就中国高校英文校名所存在的问题进行分析,并提出一些修改的建议。 With further implementation of the reform and opening policy, and with the development of China's economy, Chinese tertiary institutions conduct more and more academic exchanges with the outside world. Based on their original Chinese names, these institutions create the English names of their own for the convenience of the exchanges. However, due to the lack of necessary guidance of regulations, the institutions have to decide the English names by themselves. Without any standard of nominating, the English names of tertiary institutions vary greatly, producing ambiguity, causing misunderstanding and even embarrassment. This paper analyses the problems in English names of the tertiary institutions, and makes proposals for the improvement.
