For the functions of respiratory and cardiovascuhr system of Japanese eel, Angtuilla japonica, the optimal temperature was in the range of 15±30℃. At 10℃, the eels showed weak respiratory function and the model of intermittent respiration. The heart rate and blood pressure were also dropped cvidently as compared to those at 25℃. The frequency of opcreular movements and the heartrates were 15.14±2.48 and 16.67±3.44counts/min, the blood pressure was 2.19±0.30 kPa. while at 25℃ these relevent values were 46.71±5.43, 56.71±9.77 counts/min and 3.18±0.47 kPa. At 35℃, the frequency of opercular movements, heart rates and the blood pressure reached their maximum. The values were 61.63±4.93, 102.10±8.48 counts/min and 3.78±0.40 kPa. At temperature above 35℃, ecls often showed serious disturbance of the functions of respiratoly and cardiovascular systems. In most cases, the functional changes were irreversible at temperature above 38℃.
