摘　　要： 本文从系统功能语言学的角度探讨叙事学的情节、故事和话语等基本范畴在语言中的地位问题，以说明话语（代表语言）与其它媒体符号系统在体现故事事件时各自相对的独立性和独特性，但无意否认它们在功能上的共同特征。作者论证说明：故事是话语（广义的）的语义单位，体现这一语义维度的是话语的形式结构（狭义的话语）；普洛普等人的情节概念是故事内容的一部分，因而是语义结构性的，什克洛夫斯基等人的情节范畴则属于语用学。 This paper makes an attempt, from the perspective of the Systemic-Functional Linguistics, to give theoretical evidence for the status of such Narratologist concepts as PLOT, STORY and DISCOURSE, the purpose of which is to clarify the peculiarity of text/discourse in narrating stories that may be conveyed by other social semiotic systems, such as TV or film, but they differ in essence. The author gives evidence to show that STORY is part of the semantic meaning of DISCOURSE (in the broad sense), which is realised by the formal dimension of discourse (discourse in the narrow sense); meanwhile, Propp and others’ concept of PLOT is part of the semantic structure, and Shklovsky and others’ PLOT falls into the domain of pragmatics.
