摘　　要： 语言的起源是研究语言的一个中心问题，也是研究人类的一个中心问题。因为人类最显著的特点就是有语言。没有别的动物发明过语言，也没有其他的动物学得会一个完整的语言。我们可以认为，研究语言的起源，是研究现代人的起源的一个最重要的部分。研究人类的起源，与研究语言的产生是密不可分的。 Language emergence is one of the central issues in studying human language and human evolution. According to the recent findings from archaeology and genetics,we speculate that human language origi- nated perhaps as recently as 50,000 or 60,000 years ago,with the emergence of our Most Recent Com- mon Ancestors(MRCA).Complex languages of today must have emerged from simple structures,as the result of conventions accumulated in the course of communication.We employ the ideas and methods de- veloped in disciplines for studying adaptive complex systems to explore the emergence of language,using the fact that humans have strong tendency to imitate.In this study we report a model that simulates how consistent vocabulary is reached in a population of individuals imitating each other.A mathematical analy- sis on the simulation result is also presented.Such simulation models appear to be an effective method to study the emergence of language.
