摘　　要： 借代是一个复杂的符号体系 ,包含有两个层次的意指系统。借代的产生是因为在语言符号的传递过程中 ,发送者和接收者共同遵守着“经济原则”进行编码或解码。不同概念范畴间的认知关联是借代得以产生的基础。语义与语境冲突而导致的语义异常是借代生成的结果 ,也是其得以辨认的标志。 Metonymy is a complex sign system containing two levels of signification The generation of metonymy is attributed to the fact that in verbal communication participants on both sides observe the Economy Principle to encode or decode The basis of the creation of metonymy is the cognitive relevance between different categories Semantic anomaly, due to the clash between meaning and the context, is the result of using metonymy and the reliable symbol for identifying metonymy Cognitive context plays a critical role in the interpretation of metonymy
