摘　　要： 本文试图从一个侧面解读苏格拉底之死中所蕴涵的民主、自由以及法治之间的内在联系,通过分析雅典的直接民主制和苏格拉底的个人自由的命运之间的冲突,揭示出消极自由与积极自由、直接民主与间接民主之间的内在矛质,以及民主与法治之间的张力。 This paper attempts to demonstrate the relationship between democracy, freedom and the rule of law from the death of Socrates by an aspect. Through analysis the complicate relationship among the direct democracy in the city - state of the Ancients and Socrates' s fate of individual liberty, the writer tries to elucidate the conflicts between the positive freedom and the negative freedom, the direct democracy and the indirect democracy, and the tension between the democracy and the rule of law.
