摘 要: 本研究以图式理论为理论框架并通过实验的方法探究中国英语学习者的背景知识在口译中所担当的角色。结果表明 :(1)背景知识与口译成效呈正相关 ,背景知识对口译的各个环节均有促进作用 ;(2 )有无背景知识可能导致口译成效的显著性差异 ;(3)口译成效与语言水平相关 ,但语言缺陷可以通过激活图式的能力来补偿 ;(4)口译是一个多因素相互作用的复杂过程 ,仅凭背景知识恐怕无法清楚地解释口译的种种现象。 This paper investigates the role of the Chinese EFL learners background knowledge in his success of oral interpretation through an experimental study. The findings indicate that: (1) background knowledge correlates positively with success of oral interpretation, facilitating every link of oral interpretation; (2) background knowledge may result in a significant difference in success of oral interpretation; (3) success of oral interpretation correlates with proficiency level, but proficiency inadequacy may be supplemented by the ability to activate schema; and (4) oral interpretation is an interplay of both internal and external variables and background knowledge alone cannot fully explain the happenings in oral interpretation.
