The relationship between God and man runs through Eugene O'Neill's works. The word God means the ultimate power that affects or dominates people's life, and the strong and invisible mysterious force concealed under the life. According to O'Neill's viewpionts, human being's instinct ardour, machinery ,materialism, money and Puritanism prevailing in America, as a mighty dissident force apporsing humanity, have become the new God predominating the mankind. As an author with intensive suffering consciousness, O'Neill profoundly presents his anxiety on the mankind.
