摘　　要： 约瑟夫·康拉德是英国19世纪末和20世纪初两代作家之间一位承前启后的重要人物,同时也是现代主义文学运动初期的一名勇敢的探路者。本文着重探讨康拉德的早期现代主义思想,揭示他与新旧两种文学的关系,并分析他的"末日感"、印象主义技巧和叙述形式的革新等现代主义创作倾向。 Joseph Conrad is both an important figure between the two generations of writers during the transitional period from the end of the 19^(th)century to the beginning of the 20^(th)century,and a literary,pioneer in the early stage of modernist movement.This paper explores Conrad's early modernist concept, examines his relationship with the old and new literature,and discusses his modernist tendencies such as his sense of doom,impressionist techniques and innovation in narrative form.
