The relationship of body mass index(BMI) and blood pressure of Special Olympics athletes has been investigated with the methods of measuring 59 athletes’ height, weight, blood pressure who participated in Special Olympics Games in 2008 to 2009 and then analyzing the data. The results show that body mass index and blood pressure are significantly correlated. With the body mass index and age increasing, the blood pressure increases. The relationship between systolic blood pressure and age in female Special Olympics athletes(r = 0.183;p = 0.361) is higher than that in male Special Olympics athletes(r = 0.033;p = 0.858).Special Olympics athletes’ obesity rate is higher than normal persons’.Therefore, rationalization of diet and appropriate exercise are important measures to control Special Olympics athletes’ BMI.
