Hong Kong Chinese has been turned into a more important political partfrom a minor one subordinate to the English since the Sino-British Declarationwas announced in 1984. From this change we can see that the elite is more activethan the common people in political participation. If Chinese government and theSAR government carry out proper political and economic policy to satisfy the lo-cal people's needs,the future of Hong Kong will be very bright.
