摘　　要： 免费分配土地问题在美国土地处理制度史上占有重要的地位。免费土地成为殖民地时期以及美国建国之后土地开发的一个重要手段。美国有着悠久的免费分配土地的传统 ,这一传统可以追溯到英属北美殖民地建立的初期。拓荒者争取免费土地的斗争贯穿美国早期土地制度史的始终。迄止 186 2年《宅地农场法》的颁布 ,免费分配土地问题才最终以国家法律的形式获得解决。 The problem of free allocation of land occupied a very important place in the history of American land system. Free land became a very important means of land development. America has a long tradition of free allocation of land. This tradition can trace back to the early period of British North American colony. The pioneers' struggle for free land ran through the whole early period of American land system. With the proclamation of Homestead Act in 1862, the problem of free allocation of land has been finally settled by the national legislation.
