摘 要: 本文根据福柯对文艺复兴时期的"疯癫"文学形象的有关论述和A.C布莱德雷对于莎士比亚四大悲剧实质的理解,审视了英国戏剧家威廉.莎士比亚四大悲剧里面的疯癫人物形象,探讨了莎士比亚四大悲剧中人物疯癫形象的种种起因。文艺复兴时期文学作品中的疯癫主题取代死亡主题并不标志着一种断裂,而是标志着忧虑的内在转向。莎士比亚对疯癫意象的情有独钟和生动刻画也向我们展示了他对疯癫独特的审美观和对人性深刻的理解。 Different from the popular concept of madness which views madman as a patient with mental illness,French ideologist Michel Foucault views madness as a complex social phenomenon rather than a natural occurrence.Madness replacing death to become the prevailing theme in Shakespeare’s four tragedies shows that people had shifted their attention from the anxiety of death to the human existence itself.Madness is thus the symbol of the chaos of the late Elizabethan times as well as the symbol of people’s desperati...
