摘　　要： 海外著名学者王德威的中国文学研究一向以渊博的学识、宏阔的视野以及具有原创性的方法意识为主要特色,他的问题意识集中于发掘历史叙事与话语权力之间复杂而深刻的纠合关系,并在此基础上继续深入探索中国文学现代性历史叙事的可能范式及其局限。《历史与怪兽》一书分四个章节集中讨论了历史、暴力、叙事之间隐秘而深刻的内在关联,以独特的视角审视了中国现当代文学研究中长期被忽略的一些重要现象,揭示了文学史叙事中的奇崛诡异的暴力因素及其变形,由此也引发了我们对于文学现代性以及文学史书写等问题的深度思考。 Wang Dewei is reputed as scholar with profound knowledge, broad outlook and original approach in the field of research of Chinese literature. He focuses upon the complicated relationship between the narrative of the history and the power of language and on that basis explores the possible patterns and limitations of the modern narrative of the history in Chinese literature. History and Monster examines the mysterious and profound relationship between history, violence and narrative in four chapters, reviews some important phenomena that have long been neglected in the study of contemporary Chinese literature, and thus reveals the strange violent elements and its deformation in the narrative of history of literature, which arouses our reflection upon the modernity and the writing of the history of literature.
