摘　　要： 在文体学发展近百年的历史中 ,基于不同的学术背景、方法论基础以及观照范围等 ,对文体本质的认识曾产生过各种不同的理论。本文通过对文体本质研究的回顾 ,提出对文体本质的研究宜吸收各家灼见 ,采用一种综合的分析模式 ,重视在文体产生过程中语言与认知的相互作用 ,并希望认知科学特别是认知语言学进一步的发展对文体本质有更强的解释力。 In its history of about a hundred years, stylistics has seen various theories on the essence of style, varying in their academic background, approaches and scope of concern. Through a brief survey of them, the present paper advocates an integrated approach to this subject, which will synthesize the reasonable aspects of each theory and give enough attention to the interaction between language and cognition, with a prospect for the cognitive sciences, especially cognitive linguistics, to have for it more explanatory adequacy.
